Looking for something fun to do with the kids this half term?
Surrey Lions’ cricketing legend Mark Ramprakash goes into bat with the kids at the Kia Oval
An Open Day to launch Surrey's new twenty20 family ticket will give the children in your care the chance to meet and chat with their cricketing heroes this summer half term. Ramps, new fast bowler Shaun Tait and Surrey Lions’ captain, Rory Hamilton-Brown, are all scheduled to play that day, and while the team takes to the ground for an open training session, Surrey Lions’ coaches will teach the kids and their foster carers or parents the basics of batting, bowling and fielding before the big game.
Surrey Lions cricketing star Mark Ramprakash says: “Cricket matches are a perfect way for children to spend quality time with Mum and Dad. I’m thrilled to be a part of such a unique experience and can’t wait to see everyone at the Kia Oval in June.”
The open day will be available to the first 150 families who buy a family ticket to watch Surrey Lions take on Gloucestershire Gladiators on Thursday 2 June, so you'd better get in quick!
All family ticket purchases for the match will also go into the draw to win fantastic prizes, including family tickets for the remaining 2011 t20 fixtures at the Kia Oval.
Chris Adams, Cricket Manager, SCCC, says: “twenty20 matches at the Kia Oval always have a fantastic atmosphere and this year we wanted to support families who are looking for a different, value-for-money activity this half term break. We believe cricket is a fantastic way to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage the kids to get out there and give it a go.”
The family open day will start at 4pm. Surrey’s new t20 family ticket is just £36 + £1 booking fee for a family of four up until four weeks out, when it rises to £48 + £1 booking fee. Additional children’s tickets are £7.50.
