Foster Care Fortniht LogoFoster Care Fortnight

From 16 – 29 May 2011 is Foster Care Fortnight.
Each year the Fostering Network use Foster Care Fortnight to highlight the need for more foster carers and call on everyone from political leaders to the general public to get behind fostering and support children in care. This year is no exception, in fact, foster carers are needed even more urgently. Find out more about becoming a foster carer in our How to Become a Foster Carer Series here.

What have you got planned for Fostering Fortnight?

Foster Families Magazine wants to join you in your activities! Find out about some events by clicking here. Our aim is to help you recruit and retain foster carers, by offering extra support and advice on issues that foster carers face on a day to day basis. We have an ongoing 'How to become a foster carer' series which is ideal for potential foster carers; our Home section gives tips on creating space for that extra child and helping make their bedroom into a place they can call their own. Our Health section explains the reasons for different health issues such as bed wetting and eating disorders, and gives top tips on how to deal with the situation in the best possible way. Foster carers and children in care share their experiences, encouraging others in their role and letting them know they're not alone. We would love to be a part of your fostering experience, so please email info@fosterfamilies.co.uk to ask for order forms and free samples of the magazine to hand out during Foster Care Fortnight, or fill out the form below:
